Margaret River Retreat
I wish I had read the recent reviews before booking a two night stay at Margaret River Retreat in a glamping tent. Our experience was similar. We arrived for 3pm check in as advertised but reception was vacant, phoned the number listed and 30 minutes later were greeted and were taken to the tent we would be staying in (3:30pm). On arrival, the tent was not prepared and we were told it would take 1hour to setup. Another couple were in the same position as us as we were waiting at 3pm together and their tent was not ready. We left and went into Margaret River with our 2.5year old. We returned to the tent at 5:00pm and found the tent made up with our bed for the night + two extra beds in the tent unmade, one with the previous stays sheets left on top (refer photo). There was no globe in the light fitting and no heater supplied. The light was remedied quickly though when requested.Bins overflowing in the shared spaces (kitchen, toilets, showers etc). Common areas unclean and no cleaning in these areas took place over the duration of our stay.It bucketed 40mm rain and the tent withstood it all, so the weather conditions shouldn’t put you off.It is a nice location and setting but we wouldn’t return after this stay.

Our family of four loved our stay at Margaret River Retreat. We stayed over the Easter long weekend and you wouldn't even know that the region was packed with tourists - the site was peaceful and we loved the location just a short drive south of Witchcliffe. We stayed in The Barn which was very spacious and had everything we needed for our young family. It had a full kitchen with oven, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, and there was a washing machine in the shower room so we could wash our kids' muddy clothes. The master bedroom had the most comfortable king bed with a view to the back paddock, and the second bedroom had two queen beds with a view towards the central facilities. We had an indoor dining table but also enjoyed eating outside by the BBQ.Confession - There are no TVs so we brought a portable mini projector with us and put on a movie for the kids every evening in our spacious sitting area. The on-site cafe was an added bonus and we loved getting coffees and breakfast there each morning - the coffee was excellent quality too!As an extra special touch the team put on an Easter Egg hunt on Easter Sunday so it was a delight to see all the kids who stayed at the site helping each other hunt, and sharing their eggs.In a region saturated with holiday rentals it was a pleasure to stay here hosted by old school hospitality with a sustainability focus. Our family will be back!

We booked 3 nights in the Eco Safari tent and loved it! Great location that makes a lot of the south-west very accessible and the property itself was very relaxing. The beds were comfortable and the owners / workers are very friendly!

Really lovely glamping pods with comfortable beds and heaters for winter. Hot showers as well and scenic views with wildlife surrounding us, had kangaroos, kukabarras and wagtails. Sonia and Nick are very helpful and friendly as well. Thanks for having us!

A wonderful stay and so welcoming. We loved the camping experience but without any of the hard work, which was just perfect with 2 small children. The children had the time of their lives waking up to kangaroos outside the tent and feeding cucumber to the skinks. The glamping tent is thoughtfully appointed and they even provided the children with sleeping bags which they loved. The amenities are clean and well presented. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area.

Have stayed here often and its one of my favourite places to stay! There is wildlife everywhere, such a majestic feeling waking up to brew a coffee while watching the kangaroos hopping around the camp and seeing the kookaburra families hunting for breakfast.

The toilets were dirty and rubbish bins overflowing in the toilet and kitchen. However, giving 3 stars as the glamping location is Superb with kangaroos in the morning for spotting and beautiful forest just beside. The host were friendly.
